This is widely known as the holy grail of Z cars, the Fairlady Z432. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eFor those unfamiliar with the term, the name \"432\" stands for what lies under the hood,  a four valve per cylinder, twin camshaft, triple carbureted, S20 which is the same engine offered in the Skyline GT-R‘s of the same era.  This is the second most rare model of twin-cam S20 equipped cars Nissan offered at the time with only 420 units produced in total.  And to add to the significance, this is also a 1970 (Series 1 chassis) and # 052 off the assembly line. The carpet does show some minor wear under the floor mats but it should be noted that it is the original carpet and the fact that it still exists goes to show the lack of moisture and abuse to the floor-pans underneath.  The rear seats appear to have rarely been used and are in fantastic condition.  The front seats are also in great condition but the driver seat has been re-covered in the original style and materials by the previous owner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThis car even retains the original factory exhaust and steel wheels with optional beauty rings and the only aftermarket equipment on the car is an aftermarket header and lowering springs which are of unknown origin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe most important factor to consider when contemplating a purchase of any Japanese car from this era is the chassis condition as rust and corrosion repair is the single most time-consuming and costly aspect of the restoration process.  The floor-pans, frame rails and trunk are all completely solid, intact and in great condition.   The exterior was re-painted around 10 years ago in Japan in the original color and the paint quality is exceptional.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWe have put this car through our 100 point vehicle inspection we perform on every car that comes through JDM Legends and the inspection results as well as additional photos of the paint condition, interior and underside of the car are available by request.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eJapanese market (twin-cam) Celicas are selling on the used market for anywhere between $29,000-$40,000 (not including shipping and titling fees) depending on quality and condition and you can be sure that figure will only continue to increase as fewer clean examples become available. The rotary engine was so revolutionary (in more ways than one) that it was herald at the time as the engine of the future. A revision of Series I preferred for its many upgrades cementing its sports car performance. Factory upgrades include a horsepower increase (110hp to 128hp), power brakes, a 5 speed manual option over a 4 speed, a wider wheel base for better room and handling, and larger wheel size from 14\" to 15\". The car is in very original condition other than the Nardi steering wheel. This car is undeniably rare as it is in good running condition with the original 10A rotary engine. So rare that even Jay Leno's Cosmo doesn't have the 10A. Technically, the GT-R was known as a GT-Type R (Racing), using the \"Type R\" name long before Honda. The Bellett GT-R was ahead of its time in many ways. The 1.6L made use of DOHC technology, something that was a rare sight in late 60's Japan. This coupled with power brakes and a distinguished exhaust note make for some of the most spirited driving offered from the era. As a caretaker, importer, and restorer of numerous examples, it is our pleasure to present this immaculate 1972 GT-R for sale. For those unfamiliar with the Hakosuka, we have given a brief summary below, followed by information on this specific vehicle for sale. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eOriginally intended for the luxury market, the Skyline made its debut under the Prince motor company in Japan. While it only came in 4 cylinders originally, the car was seen as somewhat of a flagship vehicle at the time. Various models, iterations, and changes would come to pass, but in 1964, the Skyline entered a new realm with the introduction of the S54 Skyline 2000GT. This version was designed specifically to compete in the GT-II class for the 2nd Japanese Grand Prix. The car went through several steps to get it race ready, most notably, elongating the wheel base to fit a more powerful 6 cylinder. In the race, the Skyline powered ahead beating long time favorites and gaining 2nd place in its first year, losing only to the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eA few years later, Nissan would buy the Prince brand and together, development on a new Skyline would begin. Capitalizing on the success of the predecessor, it was decided to feature the new C10 Skyline as a performance car. The car became famous in its many trims including the 6 cylinder versions, GT-X and of course the ultimate high-performance model, the GT-R. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhile initially only available in a 4 door configuration in it's debut in 1969, the GT-R would eventually get a 2 door release as well. The 2 door GT-R was a limited production of only 1113 units manufactured from 1971-1972. The '69-72 Skyline was nicknamed “Hakosuka”, roughly translated means ‘Box-Sky’, an amalgamation of the phrase ‘Boxy Skyline’. The Hakosuka became a big name in the Japanese Grand Prix series. It accomplished an unheard of 49 wins in a row thanks to the famous S20 engine, triple carburetor setup, dual overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, hemispherical combustion chambers and 4 wheel independent suspension. The Hakosuka GT-R is quite the holy grail and is treasured by collectors, enthusiasts, and drivers alike for its amazing behind the wheel experience, high-revving inline six engine, gorgeous looks, and racing pedigree status. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHere at JDM Legends, we specialize in early Skylines and we are very particular about the chassis we choose to import. That being said, we made a trip to Japan to personally inspect this one before having it re-painted by Classic Japanese car specialist, Garage Takeuchi in Shizuoka. Painstaking efforts were put into this car to ensure we had as factory correct of a restoration as possible. The fuel system has been upgraded and converted to fuel injection duties with an in-tank Holley Hydramat setup ran through custom lines and AN fittings into a Tomei adjustable fuel pressure regulator and RB26 injectors.
