We are pleased to offer this recently restored, immaculate 1972, 240Z up for consignment sale here at JDM Legends.
This is a 2 owner, numbers matching example with only 54,510 miles on the odometer. The current owner took ownership in October of 1974 and has owned it for the last 48 years.
This car has been repainted in the original 115 Blue metallic factory color with minor rust repairs performed upon restoration. This is a lightly modified example with Bilstesin shocks and lowering springs, four piston front calipers, 280ZX rear disc conversion and 260z 5-speed transmission with new Exedy clutch and slave cylinder. Under the hood we have rebuilt SU carburetors by Z therapy, aftermarket camshaft, MSA 4-2-1 Cerakoted header into a 2.5 inch exhaust system with an upgraded from points to electronic ignition. The mechanical fuel pump has been replaced with an OEM unit, all fuel lines, new fuel tank and fuel level sending unit. A new reduction gear starter and 60 AMP alternator have been added as well.. A compression and leakdown test has been performed to verify the engine is in good running order as well as a valve adjustment and carburetor sync and tune.
A comprehensive brake service has been performed including new fluid, pads, rotors, brake lines and rebuilt calipers. All rubber bushings, tie-rods, ball joints, transmission and differential mounts, front wheel bearings and seals have been replaced throughout the chassis. The R180 differential has also been serviced, restored and resealed. The wheels are classic Panasport Z-lights in a 16x7" with a -0 offset on 225/45/16 Toyo Proxes R1-R tires
The interior has been treated to a complete restoration including a Vintage Dashes dashboard, reupholstered seats, new carpet, vinyl, all interior plastics, door cards and headliner.
The entire electrical system has been thoroughly tested and repaired, upgraded to a new mini fuse panel and all modifications have been performed for a fully functioning system including new fuel tank and sending unit.
Sourcing and restoring a project 240Z to this level would be difficult to achieve for the asking price, not to mention the amount of time involved for a proper restoration.
